  • Do you accept books and what is your policy?
    WE DO ACCEPT DONATIONS AND ASK THAT YOU CONTACT US FIRST. 519-940-8740 Readers' Choice seeks quality books since our space is limited. We are currently accepting recent bestsellers and/or bestselling authors in all categories, romance, mystery, adventure,classic literature, history and war etc… For titles we can use*, we offer in-store credit only (no cash): paperbacks (50¢ - $1) large (trade) paperbacks ($1 - $2) hardcovers ($1 - $3) * All books must be in good condition. paperbacks must be in 'very good' or 'like new' condition to be considered no markings on any of the pages (underline, highlighting or margin notes) no textbooks, however we will consider some art, literature & poetry related books in children's and young adult books we are selective (mainly bestsellers, titles published in recent years or classic titles) All books will be evaluated in-store to determine their value. A staff member is able to go through about 30 - 40 books while you wait. We do not accept drop offs. Reminder: we may not accept all books. For larger quantities of books, please contact the store (519-940-8740) for us to consider them. Please be prepared to answer questions as follows: How many books do you have? What is the condition of the books? What subject matters do you have? (not individual titles) We may be able to arrange a home consultation for larger home libraries or substantial collections, please contact the store to make arrangements. If you have donations, please contact the store. We do not take back books purchased instore.
  • How does the credit system work?
    In-store credit can be used towards used books only In-store credit does not apply to sale offers or other merchandise Readers' Choice maintains in-store credit records on your behalf
  • What types of payment do you accept?
    We accept cash, debit, MasterCard®, Visa® and Amex®.
  • What is your return policy?
    You have seven days to return purchase for in-store credit (no cash). All items (books or other merchandise) must be returned in the condition purchased. Receipts must accompany all returns.
  • Do you offer gift certificates?
    Readers' Choice gift certificates are perfect for any occasion: birthdays… graduations… retirements… a simple thank you… Mother's Day, Father's Day… Christmas… …or just to let someone know you're thinking about them! Gift certificates can only be used to purchase books or merchandise in the store and cannot be redeemed for cash. Gift certificates can be purchased in-store only in denominations of $5, $10 and $20. We do not charge tax on gift certificates. Readers' Choice is not responsible for lost or stolen gift certificates.
  • Do you accept book requests?
    Yes we do. Either call (519-940-8740)or click on Contact tab on this website and fill out the following information as best you can: Title Author Genre (category: romance, murder mystery etc…) Your name Phone number ISBN (if you have it) If the book is available, we will notify you and hold the book for up to one week unless you are from outside of Orangeville where special arrangements can be made. If we do not have the book and you would like to put you on a wish list please specify. We will keep your request for 60 days.
  • Can I purchase books that I see on your home page and have it shipped to me?
    As we are not set up for e-commerce at this time we can try to accomodate you. Please email us with title of book, your name and address. It will take 1-3 business days for us to get back to you with cost of shipping charges.
  • Do you take back books purchased instore for store credit?
    We do not take back books purchased instore for store credit. We will accept books not purchased from the store to go through for instore credit. Refer to first Q & A for details.
  • What happens during Covid Shutdown?
    Were open with our regular hours at this time. If there is a shutdown information will be updated.
